Organization for Communication and Popularization of Science in masses

Yuva vigyan Parishad focuses on outreach activities, training in Science and Technology communication, developing scientific temperament among school children & general public, motivating women, students and teachers, environment awareness programmes.

Yuva Vigyan Parishad was established in 1992. From the very beginning of the organization, the objectives of the organization were to develop scientific thinking among the general public. The main objectives of the organization are -

1. Development of scientific thinking.

2. Use of scientific method in every field.

3. Understanding of the method of science and its values, its consciousness to understand the environment around us and to propagate creative thinking and curiosity among the public.

4. Encourage the desire to actively intervene in people to prevent the misuse of science and technology.

5. Educate people so that they can give practical form to science and technology for their upliftment.

6. Promote the contemporary achievements made by scientists/technical experts and others to bring self-reliance in the development of the nation.

7. Strengthen the Jan Vigyan Andolan.

8. Use public media in the promotion of science.

9. Make the public aware of the truth of science to remove superstitions.

10. Organizing symposia, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, science fairs, teaching training related to science and technology for the promotion of science.

The organization has been continuously using various occasions like National Science Day, National Mathematics Day, Year of Astronomy, Year of Mathematics, and Year of Chemistry for the promotion of science.

The organization has been working for the popularization of science and technology in Madhya Pradesh for 30 years. During these years, the organization has been continuously getting the support and guidance of the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology. From time to time, the organization also got the opportunity to work with Vigyan Prasar under the Department of Science and Technology.

A. Organizing science writing workshops for budding science writers and journalists.

B. Propagation of science through National Science Day and National Mathematics Day.

C. To highlight the development of science and technology in India and the contribution of Indian scientists in the field of science and technology through exhibitions.

D. To accelerate the promotion of science and technology in tribal areas.

E. To organize science activity corner for children and general public.

F. To promote science among children and general public under science communication through folk media like puppetry.

G. To organize programs for environmental protection and organize nature study camps.

H. To train youth for science communication through digital medium.

I. To organize low cost no cost teaching aid workshops for teachers.

J. To organize empowerment program for women.

K. To organize science and technology training camps for children.

L. To reach out to the people through the scientific explanation of miracles program and remove superstitions.
